Weight fluctuation truths!

When you have finally taken your weight loss journey seriously, you will find that we all have one thing, for sure, in common. We become fixated on what the scale tells us; this is one thing I have learned NOT to do. The scale is an instant mood snatcher. As women, we have things that happen to us that cause temporary weight gains, and who wants to hear that when we are focused on our goals?

Daily meds like birth control, salty food, and, more importantly, hormones are some of the top causes of temporary weight gain.

Did you know?

Hormones can add up to about 6 lbs in a one-week period. Not getting enough sleep can stall your weight loss. NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) such as ibuprofen can cause water retention aiding in weight gain. Not getting enough rest slows down your body's ability to burn carbs.

Your body's weight is a combo of bone, fat, tissue, muscle, and water. Changes on the scale are not the best reflection of fat loss. It is best to weigh yourself once a week. During that week, you can see the change in the way your clothes fit, your strength, and your energy level increasing.

Do not allow the scale to deter you from your goal and take away from your non-scale victories!
